SURROUNDED BY THE COOLEST NEIGHBOURHOOD’S IN TORONTO

MRKT Alexandra Park is surrounded by four of the coolest neighbourhoods within Toronto – how lucky are you! Enjoy the variety of living near different areas that offer a unique experience, so you’ll never get bored. Here are descriptions of the four neighbourhoods and what they have to offer.

Queen West

This world-class street has a creative energy and vibrancy to it that makes it irresistible! With a walking score of 97 and a transit score of 95, Queen West is where it’s at! The more you go west, the more interesting it gets. Head west enough, and you’ll find West Queen West, where you can find the infamous Trinity Bellwoods Park, an ideal place to hang out with friends on the grass or toss a baseball around. Other notable areas within West Queen West are Ossington Strip (home to the city’s best nightlife), Fresh Restaurant, Bellwoods Brewery, many art galleries, and charming boutique hotels.

Home and condo buyers are highly attracted to this area and enjoy living here due to its charm – you can find all ages, young and old! People love how unique this area is; you’re not going to find anywhere else like it in Toronto. It’s the place to be! You can find fun hipster shops, attractions, restaurants, and cafes like White Squirrel Café (even the name is quirky), Sam James Coffee Bar, The Drake Hotel (where they have fun trivia nights!), Bar Fancy, and so much more! Every night is a night out when living in Queen West!

Kensington Market

Kensington Market is a unique Bohemian district, one of the world’s most fascinating actually. With vintage shopping boutiques, mom and pop restaurants, quirky experiences, and a spontaneous quirkiness that you’ll fall in love with. It is a place where many different generations and cultures come together to create a lively atmosphere.

You’ll always find something to satisfy your craving for food or entertainment. Some of the best include Seven Lives, Wanda’s Pie in the Sky, Fresco’s Fish and Chips, Rasta Pasta, King’s Café, Pow Wow Café, Pho Hung, Global Cheese Shoppe, Kensington Brew Co., Sub Rosa Vintage, Blue Banana Market, Kensington Art Market, and so much more! Every last Sunday of the month, they offer Pedestrian Sundays where they close the streets to traffic so people can walk on the road and have dance parties or looking at pop-up vendors.

Chinatown

Toronto’s Chinatown is not what you would expect as it has become more pan-Asian and funky-bohemian than just solely Chinese. It has fantastic malls, incredible food, and exciting nightlife that creates a unique atmosphere with a kinship that exists, unlike any other city.

Some of the tastiest restaurants in the area include Mother’s Dumplings, King’s Noodle House, Swatow, Rol San, or Lee Garden, plus many more you’ll have to explore! There is also El Mo, short for El Mocambo, one of the oldest and most notorious live music halls in the city, and it doesn’t even have a Chinese name – strange for this area. It’s because they have been in business on Spadina before Chinatown was even considered Chinatown and was famously the site of a surprise concert by the Rolling Stones in 1977.

Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park is where you’ll find all the greenery within the area. This neighbourhood is where residents go to get active and enjoy nature. It also has many recreational activities, including an outdoor pool, a wading pool, tennis courts, and an ice rink. The Scadding Court Community Centre is located next to the park with facilities like an indoor pool, a gymnasium, a weight room, and meeting rooms. Across from the community centre is the Charles R. Sanderson Public Library, offering various programs for adults, children, and pre-schoolers alike. You’ll always have a ton of activities to do!

Streetcar services will be available on all major streets surrounding MRKT Alexandra Park, giving residents easy access to the rest of the city. These streetcars will then link commuters to Toronto’s subway line stations. For motorists, the Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard are just minutes away, providing easy access to and from your new condo.

Tridel

Tridel is Canada’s leading developer and builder of condominium residences with more than eight decades of diverse experience. To date, the Tridel Group of Companies is responsible for producing over 85,000 homes. The company’s focus is on customer service, innovation, environmentally sustainable design, performance in construction, and corporate stewardship.

The founder of the company, Jack DelZotto, built their first home in 1934. Jack had a strong belief in family, home and community and was a true innovator, building the first apartment complex in 1961 including several modern features. The founders of Tridel refined what a “home” is. A home is more than its physical properties of brick and mortar, it’s a lifestyle and a community that connects us to each other and our surroundings. This idea transformed the industry, and what they started over 5 decades ago is now recognized as the most innovative, sustainable concept in building new homes and communities.

Jack’s three sons, Angelo, Elvio and Leo and their children continue to carry out the tradition of family values and innovation, which inspires everyone at the company to be part of something bigger than themselves. Tridel works to make the world a better place.
